Very early this morning we received an email update on our cruise — the two days in Egypt have been cancelled and replaced with Sicily and Malta. So, the itinerary below changes for the first four days only. Sicily on Sunday the 16th and Malta on Monday the 17th then two days cruising. We’ll be back on the posted itinerary below once we get to Israel.
Little did we know when we tossed our coins in the Fountain of Trevi that we might indeed be back through Rome someday, again on the way to Egypt!
One wonders about the hit the Egyptian economy must be taking without their tourists!
That itinerary sounds fabulous. Israel is a place I’d love to visit. I’m looking forward to hearing about your trip.
Thanks, Jane, we’re super excited! We’ll do our best to keep the blog as updated as possible — hopefully internet cafes will abound!
How long have you been in the planning stage for this trip? I can’t wait to hear more. Nelson is in Aviano, Italy having a blast. I hope to visit next summer.
We originally booked this cruise for the Fall of 2010 to celebrate Denny’s retirement, however the problems in Egypt at that time resulted in the cruise being cancelled back then. We finally rebooked early this year for 9/15. We’ve been planning for months! Sounds like fun — visiting Nelson, hope it works out for you, you’d have a blast!
Have a safe & fun trip!!!! Bon Voyage!!!
Thank you so much — we surely will!
Ok. Got it. I sent something a while ago and it didn
t show up. Anyway, I said no need to take a bar since you
will be on a cruise ship with food abound…….as you know. Just kidding. I
m so happy for you two to be doing this trip of a lifetime. Just wish we were with you!!! Sooooo looking forward to your blogs!!!! Love ya, Sis
I’m waiting anxiously for some blogging today.
Too funny — I was writing it when your comment came in! So glad you’re enjoying reading our blog!
